How convenient are your classes?

Urban Fitness Clubs have several different styles of class to choose from during peak hours 7 days a week. Registration can be done online, over the phone and on site so there’s no excuse to get started with one of your favourite classes today.

How old do you have to be to go?

You must be at least 18 yeas of age. If a legal guardian is willing to in person sign a waiver we can make exceptions.

What are your hours of operation?

We are open 7 days a week. Each location have set hours so refer to the online schedule.

How much is it?

There are several payment options. You can pay for a 10 or 20 class pass, have unlimited classes for a month or a yearly contract membership.

Can I share my pass with a friend?

No. All class pass is non-refundable/transferable.

Do I need to bring anything?

Each class is structured differently so check out the descriptions or call our studio to find out what you will need. In most cases a towel and water would be good enough. We recommend you to bring your own Yoga mat for Yoga/Pilates classes, or your can rent one at the studio for $2/mat. For Kickboxing bootcamp classes, we recommend you to bring your own boxing gloves and hand wraps. For health risk reasons we do not offer gloves or towel service.

Do I have to be in great shape to take a class?

Each class has been designed to accommodate any age or body type. Always check with your doctor before taking any fitness classes.

Where do I park?

There is plenty of metre parking accessible all around the studio. There are 2 major bus routes on Burrard Street and Granville Street. The skytrain terminal is about 6 blocks away in Yaletown at Davie and Pacific Boulevard.

South Granville location has ample street parking close for both metre and free parking.

Why should I LIKE Urban Fitness Club on Facebook?

We post events, promotions, prize draws, fitness and health tips on our Facebook page regularly. It is the best way stay connected with us and other members for any social events, running group and promotions.

Why the front door is locked during Yoga/Pilates classes?

Our studios are open concept and noise travels. Please keep chatting to a whisper so as not to disrupt the previous class. Arriving late for a Yoga/Pilates class disrupts the other people that are already there. Your arrival and setting up will distract them from what the teacher is saying and it will take them time to get back into the flow of the class. Please arrive at least 10 min before class start time. We lock the front door during a Yoga or Pilates class to ensure the students and teacher are not interrupted during a practice. There is absolutely no late entry for Yoga/Pilates classes. Please do not ring the doorbell or try to open the door past the class start time or before the class end time.

Do I have to sign up for a contract and pay initiation fees?

Unlike some of the big chain gyms in the city, the advantage of Urban Fitness Clubs is a pay as you go system. You only pay for what you want. There is no initiation fees. We also have a very reduced rate for a one year contract with pre-payment or monthly payment options.

Should I pre-register for a class or just drop-in?

Pre-registration is required for all our classes. Due to the limited studio space at our  locations , all classes have a maximum capacity. Please make sure the ‘Receive Email’ box is check in your online profile to receive the reminder Email. If you cannot make to the class, please cancel online as early as possible. Please refer to our cancellation policy for detail.

The class I want to register is full, what should I do?

We encourage you to get on the waitlist. Many people cancel classes through out the week. Most people on the waitlist will get in the class. A class maybe fully booked a week ago, but it will open up on the day of the class, so please either get on the waitlist or check the class schedule frequently. The system stops adding people from waitlist 12 hours before class start.  If you do not receive an email beyond 12 hours, please try to register for the class again on the same day.

I am on the waitlist, how do I know if I am added to a class?

An auto Email will be sent to the Email address you provide. If you cannot make to the class, please cancel online ASAP, otherwise late cancellation may apply. The system will stop add people from the waitlist to the class 12 hours before the class start time.

What is the cancellation policy for class?

You can cancel a class online by logging into your account or by phone or Email.

Online: Classes can be cancelled 12 hours prior to the class start time without a charge. Class is counted if you cancel less than 3 hours before the class start time.We encourage you to cancel online as early as possible, as it gives other students opportunity to take the class. A $5 penalty will be applied on each late cancel.

By Phone/Email: Cancellation by phone or Email requires at least 24 hours notice. Please Email: info@urbanfitnessclub.com or phone 604-696-5549/604-428-5555 including your full name and phone number , class name, date and time. We strongly encourage you to cancel directly online and use email/phone as your very last resource.

I purchase a pass online, can I use at a later date?

Yes. All our passes activate from the first use. So you can purchase multiple passes during a promotion and use them later.

My pass has expired, but I still have unused classes. How can I extend my current pass?

If your 10 / 20 Class Pass is expired, we offer expiry date extension options without any additional charge. You can extend the expiry date of your current pass by purchasing a new pass at our online store. Purchase a 10/20 class Pass, we will extend your current (expired) pass for another  3/6 months. Please note, monthly unlimited can not be extended. Don’t forget to email staff at info@urbanfitnessclub.com that you have made a purchase.

How do I pay the annual contract monthly?

Go to our Online Store. Choose Online Contracts enter the date you want to start. Your credit card will be charged on a monthly basis.

What is the cancellation policy for the annual contract?

  • The 1 Year Contract can be cancelled if you move to more than 40KM  away from your current address. Must provide proof of moving. $30 cancellation fee applies
  • If there is a medical reason, with the doctor’s note, 1) to cancel the contract, there will be a $30 cancellation fee; 2) to put monthly charge on hold: we can hold the pass for up to 6 months without a charge.
  • To cancel the yearly contract, there will be a minimum charge of $30 per remaining months left in the contract.

I have the annual contract auto pay and I will be away for a while, can I put my auto-pay on hold?

No, only medical conditions will allow for a hold. If you are away due to a medical condition, with a doctor’s note, you pass can be held for up to 6 months. Refer to cancellation policy for details.
